30 Years

Celebrating 30 Years

Follow our Journey and be a Part of the Change

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that was involved in helping Ontario Streams become the organization that it is now. Over the past 30 years we have improved the environment by planting 186,299 native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, rehabilitating 21,835 m of streambank, managing 54,387 m2 of invasive species, stocking over 100,000 native Atlantic Salmon into Lake Ontario tributaries, and removing litter from 4,621,361 m2 of riparian habitat. Thanks to our thousands of dedicated volunteers, passionate partners, and generous grants and donations that have made all of this possible. We invite you to continue to work with us and expand our rehabilitation projects and develop new partnerships. Together we can rehabilitate, restore, and protect Ontario's streams, rivers, and wetlands.

For 30 years we have been restoring, rehabilitating, and protecting Ontario's streams, rivers, and wetlands. Through the incredible dedication from our team, volunteers, and partners we have implemented impactful projects. Check out our Story Map to see the highlights from our major projects over the past 30 years. The Story Map will share our history through a timeline of accomplishments and an interactive map to guide you through our journey.

If you are interested in being a part of the action, consider symbolically adopting to support our habitat rehabilitation projects. The Redside Dace, Jefferson Salamander, and Atlantic Salmon are all native species that are facing extreme stressors due to urbanization and pollution. By symbolically adopting you are directly supporting the protection and rehabilitation of species that are in dire need of your support. Each adoption will include a unique card, sticker sheet, infographic, and certificate related to the species you adopt. Act today and make a meaningful impact by supporting these species.
